

Spotted Productions has released a new trailer for Masaharu Take's 100 Yen Love, which premiered at the Tokyo International Film Festival on October 25.
The film stars Sakura Ando as a hikikomori (shut-in) named Ichiko who decides to move out of her parents' home after clashing with her recently-divorced sister. She gets a job at a 100 yen store, where she spends most of her time trying to catch glimpses of an aging boxer named Yuuji practicing at a nearby gym. Soon the two begin seeing each other and Ichiko's life takes a dramatic turn when she takes up boxing herself.
The official website for Hiroshi Sato's live-action adaptation of "Otoko no Isshou" (out Feb 14, 2015) has been updated with a new teaser trailer.
Based on a manga by Keiko Nishi, the movie stars Nana Eikura as a young woman named Tsugumi Dozono who decides to move into her grandmother's home after she passes away. However, she soon discovers a middle-aged man named Kaieda (Etsushi Toyokawa) also had a set of keys to the home and was staying in the guest house. Tsugumi is initially confused about what sort of connection this man had to her grandmother, but has no choice but to let him stay there until she's officially granted ownership. Eventually, the awkward living arrangement leads to Tsugumi and Kaieda developing an unconventional relationship of their own.

Based on an autobiographical novel by "SamuGaku" school founder Hidetaka Nagaoka, the movie stars Takahiro Miura as a former high school teacher who becomes disillusioned with the traditional education system. He works at a shot bar to earn enough money to fund his own non-profit school dedicated to self-motivated, goal-oriented learning as he teams up with a group of like-minded teachers played by Mayu Matsuoka, Masaki Kaji, Reiya Masaki, and Ryosuke Yamamoto.

Based on a manga by Akira Saso, the film stars Tori Matsuzaka as a genius violinist named Kosaka who rejoins an orchestra which was originally disbanded in the wake of the recession. Toshiyuki Nishida co-stars as a mysterious conductor named Tendo whose unconventional style initially rubs Kosaka the wrong way, but eventually helps him gain confidence as a concertmaster.
The official website for Toya Sato's "ST MPD Scientific Investigation Squad" movie has been updated with a new 90-second trailer.
The film picks up after the events of the popular 2014 NTV drama which followed the exploits of a group of quirky yet talented MPD crime lab researchers who were assigned to a special criminal investigation unit called ST (Scientific Task Force). In the movie, team analyst Samon Akagi (Tatsuya Fujiwara) is arrested for murder after a charred corpse is discovered and ST is subsequently disbanded.
Elite inspector Tomohisa Yurine doesn't believe Akagi is guilty, and when Akagi escapes from jail, they begin investigating a new computer virus used by a genius hacker named Kaburaki (Yusuke Santamaria). Eventually, they track down a mysterious woman named Naomi Doujima (Yumi Adachi) who has knowledge about Kaburaki and the virus.

The movie stars Subaru Shibutani of the boy band Kanjani8 as a man with no memory of his life except for his ability to sing. One day during an outdoor concert in Osaka, he suddenly grabs the band's microphone and begins singing to a stunned crowd. The band's manager Kasumi (Fumi Nikaido) is impressed with his voice and decides she wants to work with him in spite of his affliction, giving him the nickname "Pochi Man". Before long, Pochi Man is made lead vocalist of a band, but a major problem from his past soon comes back to haunt him.
The official website for Izuru Narushima's upcoming 2-part movie adaptation of Miyuki Miyabe's mystery novel trilogy "Solomon's Perjury" has been updated with a new 60-second trailer.
The story begins with the discovery of a boy's corpse in a schoolyard below a high rooftop. The police who investigate the incident and parents of students at the school are quick to dismiss the incident as a suicide, but an anonymous note from an eye witness claims it was murder. Unable to trust adults to protect them, a group of junior high school students decide to take justice into their own hands by forming a jury within the school.

The movie originally premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival back in September. Shota Sometani stars as Toru, the manager of a seedy love hotel in Tokyo's red light district. Over the course of a single night at the hotel, Toru has the misfortune of crossing paths with two unexpected guests -- his girlfriend Saya (Atsuko Maeda) who plans to sleep with a producer to advance her music career and his sister who's involved in an adult video shoot on the second floor. Meanwhile, several other guests and employees experience a series of life-changing events.

Based on a novel by Eiichi Nakata (a pen name of Otsuichi) which itself was inspired by Angela Aki's song "Tegami ~Haikei Juugo no Kimi e~", the movie stars Yui Aragaki as a genius pianist and part-time teacher named Yuri Kashiwagi. When her former colleague Haruko goes on maternity leave, Kashiwagi temporarily takes over her position as choral advisor at a middle school in Nagasaki Prefecture. When Kashiwagi arrives, her first assignment for her students is to write a letter to themselves 15 years in the future. The letters they write eventually reveal their secret worries and concerns about reaching adulthood.

However, Ren already has an older girlfriend. As the relationship of these two is explored, several other people in their lives must deal with their own feelings of unrequited love.
GAGA has released a new trailer for Yukiko Mishima's "A Stitch of Life" (out Jan 31, 2015).
Based on a manga by Aoi Ikebe, the film stars Miki Nakatani as a seamstress named Ichie who takes over her grandmother's dressmaking shop. In spite of her dress designs being popular with locals, she continues on the path laid out by her grandmother by avoiding mass production and branding.

Based on a novel by Hisashi Inoue, the film is set during the Edo period and revolves around a nunnery called Tokei-ji which became famous for offering refuge to women as they were divorcing their husbands. Yo Oizumi stars as a man named Shinjiro who's staying at a nearby inn as he attempts to do research for a book he's writing on divorce. While there, he attempts to help a woman named Jogo (Erika Toda), and soon finds himself drawn further into the lives of the women staying at Tokei-ji.
